Why and how do we use your personal information?

You’re opting to answer an online sleep assessment from ResMed, designed to determine if you “may have sleep apnoea” or “may not have sleep apnoea”. This will enable ResMed to support you with tailored communication that we believe may be of interest. Communication will include the results of your sleep assessment and should you opt to receive it, information on sleep apnoea therapy and ResMed products and services. By collecting the data you submit when completing this sleep assessment, ResMed will be able to enhance the assessment itself, as well as its ability to provide relevant marketing communication, offers and services to you.

By ticking the consent box on the assessment sign-up form and clicking on “Start”, you consent to the processing of these personal data.

• To that end, ResMed will process some of your personal data, namely:
• Identification data: names, email address, age, location, etc.;
• Connection data: IP address, logs, metadata, etc.;
• Any information you provide us by filling in our sleep assessment, including information on your gender, age, weight, height and sleep apnoea symptoms.
• Health data: we may deduct information about your health by the fact that you have answered this sleep assessment.

The ResMed entity responsible for the processing of your personal data collected via this assessment, including cookies, is called the controller. The controller is the ResMed entity established or in charge of the country where you are located:

Your personal data will be retained in our database for up to 3 years starting from the date you complete the assessment or from our last contact with you whereupon you showed an interest in ResMed products and services (this includes contacting us or clicking on a link in our emails).

Access to this data will be limited to:

• Our subcontractor DotDigital, a marketing emailing system;
• Authorised ResMed employees.

DotDigital has been chosen with great care and acts upon instruction from ResMed. Our contractors are bound by strict contractual rules regarding data protection.

For the purposes of executing this sleep assessment, ResMed does not send your personal data outside the European Economic Area.

You have the right to be informed about the processing of your personal data, to request access to the personal data processed by ResMed, to exercise your right to portability, to request your personal data modification, their erasure and to ask for process limitation or to oppose to it.

Caution: the exercising of your rights must not impede or stop ResMed from complying with its legal or contractual obligations.
You may also file a complaint with the Data Protection Authority with jurisdiction in your country.
