Sleep apnea and your heart

Studies have shown that a large proportion of people with cardiovascular diseases (CVD) like high blood pressure and heart failure often have sleep apnea.1 While sleep apnea can develop as a result of heart disease, it may also initiate and accelerate the progression of CVD.
