What’s the problem?

A poorly timed inspiratory cycle can feel unnatural and uncomfortable for your patients and increases the risk of premature or late cycling to expiratory pressure.

What does TiControl do?

TiControl is designed to support patient-device synchrony by enabling you to set minimum and maximum limits on inspiratory time. This can help you to create an inspiratory cycle that matches the patient’s natural inspiratory needs and prevent unstable breathing patterns caused by premature or late cycling to expiratory pressure.

How does it work?

  1. By allowing you to set minimum and maximum inspiratory time limits, TiControl can provide a window of opportunity for the patient to spontaneously cycle to EPAP. The minimum time limit is set via the Ti Min parameter while the maximum time limit is set via the Ti Max parameter.
    These parameters play a significant role in maximising synchronisation by effectively intervening to limit or prolong the inspiratory time when required. For example, you can deliver a shortened Ti Max phase if your COPD patient has a restricted respiratory flow and difficulties exhaling.
  2. TiControl works in combination with Vsync leak management technology to offer extra assurance and maintain patient-device synchronisation, even in the presence of significant mouth and/or mask leak.
